Pencil First is owned by Calista Bruschi, an editor, journalist and writer.

Calista has worked in media and communications roles in both public and private sectors, most recently in an editorial capacity for Bauer Media Group.

Her writing has been published in various Australian publications including the Townsville Bulletin, Remedy Street Press, The Verdict magazine, and Blue's Country Magazine.

Writing and editing is Calista's long-time passion, and she started crafting short stories at an early age. She created her own newspaper in secondary school, which led her to pursue a career in journalism. She obtained a Bachelor of Journalism from James Cook University.

Calista is a member of a number of organisations including the Queensland Writers Centre and the Society of Editors Queensland.
